Today I led children's church, which always adds excitement to my Sunday mornings! We have a relatively small group with kids from Andrew's age (3) to about age 8. So, it can make for a pretty interesting hour. The lesson was on King Solomon building the temple for people to worship the Lord. So I asked the children, "What are ways we can worship God?" Of course they said all the right "Sunday School" answers: "sing songs, pray, play music, umm be good?" "Another way we can worship is by telling God how thankful we are for what He has blessed us with. Can everyone name something they are thankful for?" I really felt like I had gotten the message to "hit home" even with the three year olds. Several of the kids said things like family, my dog, my cat, my friends. Then I got to my three year olds, the girls were so sweet. They both softly answered "my Mommy." "Awe, How sweet! What about you Andrew, what are you thankful for?" (I really expected him to say the same!) Andrew looked at me, very excited, and loudly yelled...."BUZZ LIGHTYEAR.....TO INFINITY AND BEYOND!!) I laughed looked at the other teacher and thought "That's the preacher's kid for ya!!"
